- 2 tbsp unsalted butter (plus extra for greasing)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs (separated)
- 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease four ramekins with butter and dust with sugar.
- Melt the dark chocolate and butter in a heatproof bowl over simmering water, stirring until smooth.
- In another bowl, whisk egg yolks with sugar until pale; add melted chocolate and vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, beat egg whites until stiff peaks form. Gently fold half into the chocolate mixture, then fold in the remaining whites.
- Divide the mixture between ramekins and bake for 12-15 minutes until puffed but slightly soft in the center.
- Serve immediately, optionally dusted with powdered sugar or fresh berries.
