  • 1 loaf bread preferably day-old
  • 2 cups milk
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup apples diced
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Topping Ingredients
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon butter melted
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon.
  3. Cut the bread into cubes and add to the egg mixture, stirring to combine.
  4. Fold in the diced apples.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish.
  6. In a separate bowl, mix together the topping ingredients and sprinkle over the casserole.
  7. Bake for 45 minutes or until golden brown.
