Prepare the base
- Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add onion, bell pepper, and celery. Sauté until soft.
- Stir in garlic and cook for an additional minute.
Cook the gumbo
- Add chicken broth, diced tomatoes, and spices. Bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes.
- Add shrimp, crab legs, and okra. Cook for another 10-15 minutes until shrimp are cooked through.
Serve
- Ladle gumbo into bowls and serve hot.
