Ingredients
  

Seafood
  • 1 pound shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 1 pound crab legs cooked
Vegetables
  • 1 cup onion chopped
  • 1 cup bell pepper chopped
  • 1 cup celery chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
Liquids
  • 6 cups chicken broth
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
Spices
  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
Others
  • 2 tablespoons oil for sautéing
  • 2 cups okra sliced

Method
 

Prepare the base
  1. Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add onion, bell pepper, and celery. Sauté until soft.
  2. Stir in garlic and cook for an additional minute.
Cook the gumbo
  1. Add chicken broth, diced tomatoes, and spices. Bring to a boil.
  2. Reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes.
  3. Add shrimp, crab legs, and okra. Cook for another 10-15 minutes until shrimp are cooked through.
Serve
  1. Ladle gumbo into bowls and serve hot.
