German Potato Pancakes

Ingredients
  

Pancake Base
  • 4 medium potatoes peeled and grated
  • 1 medium onion peeled and grated
  • 1 large egg beaten
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup oil for frying

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Grate the potatoes and onion, then place them in a mixing bowl.
  2. Add the beaten egg, flour, salt, and pepper to the bowl and mix well.
  3. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  4. Scoop spoonfuls of the mixture into the pan and flatten them slightly.
  5. Fry until golden brown on both sides, about 4-5 minutes per side.
  6. Remove from the pan and drain on paper towels.
