Ingredients
  

Meringue
  • 4 large egg whites at room temperature
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Gelato
  • 2 cups gelato any flavor
Chocolate Sauce
  • 1 cup chocolate sauce for drizzling

Method
 

Prepare Meringue
  1. Preheat the oven to 225°F (110°C). In a mixing bowl, whisk the egg whites until soft peaks form. Gradually add sugar and continue whisking until stiff peaks form. Stir in vanilla extract.
  2. Spread the meringue onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and shape it into a cake layer. Bake for 1.5 hours until dry.
Assemble Cake
  1. Once the meringue is cool, layer the gelato on top of the meringue. Freeze until firm.
  2. Before serving, drizzle with chocolate sauce.

Notes
