  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup rainbow sprinkles
Frosting
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Method
 

Cake Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour the cake pans.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add milk, softened butter, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
  4. Divide the batter into separate bowls and add food coloring to each.
  5. Layer the colored batter into the prepared pans.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Let the cakes cool completely before frosting.
Frosting Preparation
  1. In a mixing bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy.
  2. Gradually add powdered sugar and mix until combined.
  3. Add heavy cream and vanilla extract, mixing until fluffy.
  4. Frost the cooled cake layers and decorate with additional sprinkles.
