Ingredients
  

Chicken and Rice
  • 1 kg chicken cut into pieces
  • 2 cups rice washed and drained
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
Nut Topping
  • 1 cup mixed nuts chopped
  • 2 tablespoons butter melted
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Method
 

Prepare the Chicken and Rice
  1. In a large pot, combine chicken, water, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes.
  2. Add rice to the pot and cook for an additional 15 minutes until rice is tender.
Make the Nut Topping
  1. In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add chopped nuts and cinnamon, and sauté until golden brown.
Serve
  1. Serve the chicken and rice on a plate, topped with the nut mixture.
