Ingredients
  

Base
  • 1 cup dates pitted
  • 1 cup nuts your choice, chopped
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
Caramel Layer
  • 1/2 cup nut butter such as almond or peanut
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Chocolate Topping
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate melted
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil melted

Method
 

Prepare the Base
  1. Blend dates, nuts, and cocoa powder in a food processor until a sticky mixture forms.
  2. Press the mixture into the bottom of a baking dish evenly.
Make the Caramel Layer
  1. Mix nut butter, maple syrup, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  2. Spread the caramel layer over the base evenly.
Add Chocolate Topping
  1. Combine melted dark chocolate and coconut oil, then pour over the caramel layer.
  2. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before slicing into bars.
